A country concert in country music land
My training stint is confirmed in Tulsa, and it's for 7 working days. Aiyaiyai.
The day after, we will be attending an Alan Jackson concert! I could not book tickets until my training itinerary was confirmed - and it was iffy because the staff were also travelling for their Rio conference the following week. When I went to the concert site, the same 2 seats kept popping up. So I had no choice. US$65 per seat whether front row or back row. Alan Jackson will be a mere spot on the stage from where we are sitting; but at least I get to experience a country show. So sad that George Strait or the Dixie Chicks are not performing then. Well, at least Alan Jackson does music similar to George. We thought of going into Nashville but the concerts we want are coming out to Tulsa.

Yeah! Row 1!!!!
Zippedi-doodah-zippedi-ay, my oh my what a wonderful day!
Logged on from early but Ticketek opened only at noon; and both Susmita and I were being offered a selection of seats; and then boom! - or boomz, according to Ris Low - Front Block 5 - one block from centre - Row 1!! Grab, Grab, Grab. This was the Visa pre-sale and I am not going to make the same mistake twice.
Cliff and Jasmine drove to Burswood to see if they could pay for selected seats but no go; only online. Janice is on training today so she could not help. If I could not get good seats today, then on the 17th, - first day of the public sale - she and her team would log on and she would let me know what seats are being offered. So nice of her.
Thanks, Cliff, Jas and Janice.
My first day working from home, I had to get my priorities right.

The Farewell Lunch
Today my boss and heads of department, together with some of the 'older' colleagues, took me to lunch at Ristorante Bologna, Marina Mandarin. I don't like farewells, but - no choice. After lunch, Stephen gave a little speech and presented me with flowers (from him) and a diamond pendant from SES. It's sad, after so long, to leave. Tomorrow is my last day and Adrian and I have been invited as guests of honour to the D&D of the F&B Managers' Association; don't pray pray.

Singing the Blues!
Further to my recent update, here's hoping that we get our best seats in the house for the second show. On 19 September, the new CD entitled Reunited, will be released, and he does 21 songs with the Shads, re-recorded in his lovely current voice.
A surprise addition is one of my favourite country hits, done as a rock and roll number; and it's super. Catch the link below.

Cliffy is doing a second show in Perth!!
How Wonderful To Know.
A second show, the following night.
Janice in Perth is trying to get seats for us. Fingers crossed they are in the front row. Cliff and Jasmine will be attending as well.
He is also doing second shows in Adelaide, Melbourne and Auckland as all the seats have sold out.
E-Bay Australia have sellers offering front block seats now for Show No. 1 at A$899 a pair.
Original cost : A$278
Hopefully there are no courses that my new employer is planning for February. Aiyaiyai.
This is my last week at SES. I'm eating too much from farewell lunches. I'm packing up, and it's rather bittersweet. On to new challenges...
