House Guests; one Not.

Today we have Pepper staying with us; she is still afraid to go down the stairs herself after having taken a bad tumble once, so has to be carried up and down. I've put out her pink bedspread but after sniffing her cousin Dolce's scent, she decided uh-uh, she'd rather lie on the floor. She was lucky enough to get chicken rice when it was discovered that Dolce's stock of pet food had expired.

We had another uninvited house guest - the neighbour's cat was found on our stair case, looking at Pepper, and Pepper and Atun looking back. Of course, preceding this was a loud, unintelligible stream of words that came from Atun and I had to ask her to repeat it - still unintelligible, but I could make out CAT and CAMERA. So whipping out the camera, I photographed it on the stairs, walked around it, got Atun to keep Pepper in her room - Atun was in shock - and went to the neighbour's house to ask the lady to come see if it was her cat in my house. I was holding it in but decided to be civil. This woman has never acknowledged any of her neighbours, who are fed up of her cats. Anyway, by the time we get in the door, the cat is perched on our courtyard table. She apologised, I told her it was not the first time, and then she said "Is It?" I drily said Yes, I have photos. She then told me that I was very unfriendly, and in the 2 years she stayed here, she noticed that. I just shrugged then locked the door on her. Bloody hell, two years of her cats roaming the estate, and shitting everywhere, you want me to be friendly to you ??

Anyway, later, Pet and I headed to the Lagoon for a spot of trash, and of course, it was the wrong thing to do - there were no car park lots, so we parked at F2 and had a lovely 20 minute stroll along the beach path, and had trouble finding an empty table. After our dinner, we bought King's ice cream in a cup, and strolled back to the car. That was indeed nice.

It's a long weekend as we are off on Monday to collect the keys to our new place, and a new adventure begins for us. The son of a motherless goat has lost his High Court case, so at least we can now move on. It's because of him that we had to take out a bank loan as the monies for the en-bloc were held up. My conference has ended, and I am looking forward to a nice break before my ministerial forum in June. I stayed at the Orchard Hotel for 3 lovely nights during the conference and this involved nice hot long baths for my aching back, chocolate in bed with American Ido, chicken rice with Seinfeld, shopping at Topshop, and watching that beautiful storm on Wednesday night and quite the best, solitude.

Here's wishing all of you a nice weekend.

pepper and dolce!

Spending the weekend with the Rascal

Hi Everyone, it's been a while, I know - but work has been keeping me busy. I've turned on the Internet this weekend, so here's a post...

Caitlin came over and tested whatever my Physio told me not to do. Wheeling her in her tricycle made me bend over, I can't carry her anymore without feeling a strain, trying to follow her wherever she crawls is an effort, but dancing with her is so much fun! Here are some photos of her, one with my bra on!

The Grandpa had to rescue her when her foot got stuck between the pedal and the yellow foot-rest!
